Napoli Extend Lead in Serie A with Hard-Fought Win over Milan

All-Italian Quarterfinal Tie Heats Up as Napoli Dominates

Giroud Brace Not Enough for Milan in Thrilling Clash

Napoli, Italy - In a highly charged all-Italian quarterfinal tie, Serie A leaders Napoli emerged victorious over AC Milan, extending their lead at the top of the standings. The match, which was presented by Heineken, featured an early onslaught from Napoli, who dominated possession and created several scoring opportunities.

However, it was Milan who drew first blood when Olivier Giroud converted a penalty in the 25th minute. The French striker was awarded the spot-kick after a foul by Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, but his goal did little to deter the hosts.

Napoli continued to press forward and were rewarded for their efforts in the second half. Hirving Lozano equalized for the hosts in the 65th minute, before Victor Osimhen put them ahead ten minutes later. Milan pushed for an equalizer, but Napoli held on to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory and extend their unbeaten streak to 12 matches.

With this win, Napoli now has a 13-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan and is well on its way to securing a third Serie A title. Milan, meanwhile, remains in fourth place, three points behind Lazio in the race for Champions League qualification.
